19 ALARM.CLOCK THIS DOES NOT RUN ON AN APPLE //c! Here's a real-time clock with an alarm. When the alarm goes off, it runs any program on the disk. There are two noisy programs on this disk. APPLE.VISION This is an animated musical demo. BOOTABLE This program copies the operating system from a disk (such as this one) onto a disk which you are going to use for programs. This process makes the disk able to 'bootstrap' (or start up automatically). DATA.BASE You can use this program to create, maintain, and list little data files containing just about anything. The program is easy to understand and modify. Set your 40/80 column switch before running this program. DESCRIPTIONS This is a data file, not a program. Examine this file using FREEWRITER to learn more about these files. DIAGNOSTICS Run this to test the memory and some of the circuitry of your computer. If everything is fine, it beeps and says "System OK"; anything else means trouble. FATHOM Use your paddle or joystick to control a destroyer and sink submarines. The subs fire torpedoes at you. 8 levels of difficulty. FORMATTER You need to run this to initialize a brand new disk before you can use it. WARNING: WIPES ALL DATA OFF THE DISK! GRUNGY.TOWERS Wander through a mansion, interview twelve suspects, and find the murderer. JOTTO One person plays this game against the computer. The computer selects a five-letter word, and the player tries to guess it by suggesting various five-letter words. JOYSTICK.TEST This program tests the potentiometers and switches in your joystick or game paddles. Both X and Y should vary smoothly from 0 to 255. LOGIC.GATES This tutorial illustrates some simple Integrated Circuit chips, the things which makes little computers like this one work. MENU This file contains the explanations you are reading now. See DESCRIPTIONS for more information. MOIRE.PATTERNS This draws pretty patterns on your screen. As with snowflakes, no two are the same. PENNY.ARCADE Hook up your game paddles for a two-person PONG game. 4 different games, with various levels of difficulty. STARLANES Two to four players compete to make the best investments as various freight companies build trading empires throughout the galaxy. STARTUP This program is running now. You can copy this program to other program disks you create, then provide a MENU file to describe the disk's contents, using FREEWRITER. SYNTHESIZER This makes noise (music??) until you press a key, then it returns to this menu. WORMS An animated demo which paraphrases a popular slogan.
